Gwynedd Archaeological Trust are running an excavation at the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways’ Boston Lodge Works, Minffordd, from Tuesday 6th October until Friday 16th October and are looking for volunteers to help out on site. The work will involve the excavation, cleaning, and recording of two gunpowder sheds as well as an area of yard which originally held a storage shed and carpenter’s shop.
Please note that due to a constrained budget there is unfortunately only a very limited budget for volunteer expenses on this job. This also means that on this occasion we do not have the resources to support volunteers with no previous archaeological excavation experience.
