Could you help us to do this? 

We ensure our people have the skills they need to  help people in crisis by delivering a range of specially developed courses.

These courses are delivered by volunteer tutors, Tutors can deliver a range of courses from

•Core learning – Safeguarding Adults, Manual Handling etc.
•Independent living – A range of modules for our health and social care
•First Aid & Emergency response

British Red Cross – Befriending Volunteer


Our aim is to provide support to individuals in their own homes to enable them to live as independently as they can. 

Would you like to help us to do this? 

We offer valuable time-limited support for individuals over 50 who are vulnerable to crisis.  

Typical tasks include  

•Visiting individuals in their own homes, once a week.
•Giving emotional support, and a listening ear.
•Helping someone rebuild their confidence by supporting them on trips out into the community, for example, taking them to a local social group.
•Giving information to people on other support that may be available to them in their community such as other charities and social activities.
•Keeping a record of contact and activities undertaken with the service user

Help in Shop Wales Air Ambulance Tywyn


Do you like meeting people and helping to raise funds for a good cause?  Wales Air Ambulance are seeking volunteers to help out at their charity shop in Tywyn, Gwynedd. You would be expected to help with the till, sorting clothes, pricing items, tidying the shop, and deal with the customers on a day to day basis.

British Red Cross - Telephone Befriender


GOFAL is a befriending and enabling service that is provided to people over the age of fifty in Wales. The aim of the service is to alleviate isolation and loneliness and encourage social interaction and emotional well-being. For some clients this can be achieved by the provision of regular phone calls 

Typical tasks include:

•Providing a listening ear and friendly voice on the telephone
•Maintaining up to date records and call logs etc.
•Signposting to any other relevant services

Bearing in mind confidentiality, passing on any concerns or highlighting any issues of a suitable nature to the Manager.

Meningitis Now - Awareness Information Distributor

As Awareness Information Distributor, you will place literature at various locations in your community including GP surgeries, health centres, libraries, community centres, hospitals, nurseries, schools and colleges – helping to raise awareness levels so that lives can be saved; and making sure that those affected by meningitis are aware of the support we provide.

Ty Gwydr/Greenhouse - Administrative Support

Greenhouse Bangor is looking to recruit volunteers to support the running of our building and community projects. We are a resource building with meeting rooms and a therapy room which is available for use by the local community.

We require volunteer to undertake the following roles:

*Covering our reception, welcoming guests and answering phone.
*Basic administrative duties including taking room bookings.
*Building maintenance (if that's your thing).
*Light cleaning duties, tidying and keeping building looking lovely.


Volunteers need to be reliable, friendly, open minded, capable of working autonomously, trustworthy and competent with basic IT and internet.

Stroke Association - Cafe Befriender


Cafe befrienders offer support and advice at a local venue where stroke survivors can buy their own refreshments and chat to their peers.  This helps to reduce social isolation and improve confidence and self-esteem of stroke survivors.  They may arrange various activities at the venue or invite another person to come in to do craft work or give talks.  For further information contact Carwyn on 01286 672626 or carwyn@mantellgwynedd.com

Facilitator of Bipolar Support Group


Bipolar UK is looking for volunteers to facilitate a Bipolar Support Group in the north of the county of Gwynedd.  In order to be a Group Faciltator, volunteers would be required to either have a direct diagnosis of bipolar themselves, or have first-hand experience and knowledge of living with someone who has bipolar.

Bipolar UK Support Groups are for people affected by bipolar including individuals pre and post diagnosis, their families and friends.  A support group offers a safe environment in which people can learn more about bipolar, share information and benefit from peer support. Support Groups meet once a month for 2 hours.

Breast Cancer Care Cymru - Headstrong Volunteer (min age 18+)

Breast Cancer Care Cymru are looking for Headstrong Volunteers.  The role would include:

- Showing clients how to make the most of hats, scarves, and hair pieces as an alternative to wigs.

- Giving clients tips on how to look after their hair and scalp during treatment.

- Offering appropriate emotional support to clients and ensuring that they are aware of other national and local services that may be useful to them, including signposting to other support services where appropriate.

- Promoting HeadStrong and other Breast Cancer Care services  in the local community, including distributing leaflets and giving informal talks and demonstrations.

Meningitis Now – Collection Tin Volunteer


This role helps us deliver and collect the thousands of donations we receive every year from our collection tins. Donations which help us continue the work we do.

As a Collection Tin Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for delivering Meningitis Now fundraising tins to organisations and businesses in your local area.
