Trustee - Snowdonia Society

Snowdonia Society works to protect the landscape, wildlife and cultural heritage of the Snowdonia National Park for the benefit of the people who live in or visit it, and for future generations. 

Snowdonia Society is managed by an Executive Committee of around 17 members. The Committee is responsible for implementing general policies and further develop the Society; ensuring Financial stability; appointing new staff and ensuring that they are managed effectively.


We are looking for possible new Trustees to help develop and oversee the Society's efforts. The Committee meets at least 4 times a year in a location within or close to the National Park. The following skills and experience have been identified as particularly useful: campaigning, land use planning, planning applications, architecture, design and heritage, countryside management, legal matters, financial matters, personnel management, public relations, marketing information technology, publications, education and fundraising.

Independent Visitor - Tros Gynnal Plant

The overall aim of Tros Gynnal Plant is to promote and safeguard the rights of children and young people ‘looked after’ or ‘in need’ and to enable this group of children and young people to have a voice in decisions, which affect their lives. By providing Independent Visitors (IVs), Tros Gynnal Plant aims to improve the quality of life for children and young people ‘looked after’.

Independent Visitors are adult role models who are external to the system. They contribute to the safeguarding and protection of looked after children and young people and also assist them to have their voice heard.

The relationship between Independent Visitor and the child requires long term commitment. Independent Visitors are matched with a child/ young person and become their friend and adult role model.

Diesel Locomative Driver - National Trust, Penrhyn Castle

Duties of the volunteer diesel locomotive driver would include:

  • Operating the Ruston locomotive for visitors to ride on
  • Carrying out basic safety checks & fluid level checks before operation
  • Adhering to the operating & safety procedure document at all times
  • Providing a warm, friendly welcome to all visitors as the public face of the National Trust
  • Becoming familiar with and then following the National Trust’s Health and Safety Policy at all times

Our Breeze Champions help make female only cycling rides happen here at Penrhyn Castle. In partnership with Welsh Cycling together we’ll provide you with the training you need to devise and lead your own entry level, female only Breeze cycle rides that start and end at Penrhyn Castle. With your enthusiasm and supportive attitude, you’ll help foster a lifelong love of cycling for participants in your group.

North Wales Citizen Panel: IT Administrator - CVSC (Community and Voluntary Support Conwy)

Are you a natural with computers and interested in research? We are looking for an IT Administrator to support the North Wales Citizen Panel, a forum for sharing ideas and opinions on the future development and improvement of the region’s Health & Social Care services. We are looking for someone who is confident with IT and able to use their initiative to get things done. You will be responsible for designing quarterly online surveys (with support from the co-ordinator and the CVSC staff team and volunteers), for developing and maintaining an accompanying database and system for collating the responses, and for sharing information with other partners across North Wales.

Bereavement Support Volunteer - Cruse Bereavement Care

We need more Bereavement Volunteers across North Wales... could YOU help fill the gap?
We provide support to adults, children and young persons who are having difficulty coping with the loss, through death, of a significant person in their lives. We are looking for volunteers who have some regular spare time to give and a desire to be involved.
We need volunteers who can give some of their free time and will to sensitively support a bereaved person work through their loss and help them create their own coping strategies, undertake intensive accredited training & gain experience in bereavement support and share skills & knowledge with a group of caring, like-minded individuals.

Beavers is for girls & boys aged 6 - 8 years old. There are volunteering opportunities for  Beaver Scout Leaders or  Beaver Scout Section Assistants. Training is provided which is free and can be accredited by the Open College Network.
