The RSPB is the biggest conservation charity in the UK.  We are quickly losing our birds, wildlife and natural places, but together we can raise the urgent funding needed to save nature.  We strive to Give Nature a Home through managing habitats, education and policy advocacy.  We are a passionate organisation, wanting to enthuse future generations about the importance of wildlife.

Help in Drop in Sessions - Abbey Road Centre


 

Assisting and taking full part at the Drop in sessions by chatting to the clients, taking part in craft making, tv/film and many more.

Ability to speak Welsh and English is advantageous but not essential.  Suitable for volunteers aged 18+.

Night stop volunteer - Digartref cyf


 
Do you have a spare bedroom??
Volunteers are needed to provide a bed, evening meal and breakfast for 1- 3 nights (expenses reimbursed) as emergency accommodation for young people (16 - 25). 
Digartref will also provide payment of £15 per night + travel for volunteers.

Archaeological Excavation at Hedd yr Ynys, Llangefni - Gwynedd Archaeoligical Trust


 

This is an archaeological excavation and volunteers will help to expose and excavated archaeological features under the supervision of professional archaeologists. They may also have the opportunity to learn how to record the features including taking photographs, drawing sections and plans and writing notes.

Here Comes the Sun 2016 - Volunteer with Tenovus Cancer Care this summer!


 
Our Here Comes the Sun campaign will run between June-August 2016. During the campaign, we swap ice cream for sun cream & hand it out from our sun cream van in communities across Wales. We also attend events, schools & businesses to offer sun safety advice.
 
And this is where you can help! Our staff are trained to have sun safety conversations, provide materials & capture data on awareness & sun behaviour. We’re looking for volunteers to support them by attending events in the local community.

Talking Books Volunteer Co-ordinator - RNIB (Royal National Institute for the Blind)


 

Could you support us to source a range of talks to promote our talking books service? The campaign aims to raise £1 million to fund 400 new books. You will help us to research potential groups, coordinate the planning, speaker allocation and carry out follow up on talks. Your support will help us to end isolation for blind and partially sighted people, giving them the freedom to read again?

Stock Room Volunteer - Barnardo's (Porthmadog Shop)

Bethesda Beaver Scout Leaders & Section Assistant - Scouts Wales

The new Bethesda Beaver section is now open! This is a bilingual group and we are particularly keen to involve more Welsh speakers. Join our new team of fantastic leaders working with the young people and making a real difference. You don't need previous Scouting experience. Volunteer opportunities are flexible, to suit you. Scouting is about having fun and making new friends, it's great to enhance your CV and make a contribution to the lives of young people and your local community. Young Volunteers Scheme - WITH (Welsh Institute of Therapeutic Horsemanship)


WITH’s Young Volunteer scheme is for young people aged 14-25. This scheme involves working alongside our volunteer support worker every Saturday afternoon between 2pm-4pm to complete tasks vital to the smooth running of our farm. With support, young volunteers will work through a practical course of horse care and volunteering skills. This course will enable young people to gain the skills and experience required to volunteer independently at WITH or other local organisations in the future. No previous experience required.

Exhibition Volunteer – Hidden Now Heard project - Mencap

Are you keen to help more people understand what life was like for people with a learning disability living in long-stay hospitals in Wales?  If you are a creative person or someone looking for creative experience, wanting to make a difference in your local community, wanting an opportunity to work as part of a team, or wanting to learn more about learning disability history, then this could be the perfect role for you!

As an Exhibition Volunteer, you will be supporting the Hidden Now Heard project to design, create and manage a temporary exhibition, which will be capturing what life was like for staff and patients who used to live and work at long-stay hospitals/institutions.  The exhibition will be looking into Bryn y Neuadd hospital in Llanfairfechan, with the exhibition taking place at the brand new Storiel Museum, in Bangor. You will help to design the exhibition, and then present the exhibition to any visitors once the exhibition is live.

This is a one – off event: 28th April – 1st November 2016.

Sport & Play Instructor - Balkans Expedition Autumn 2016 - World at Play


This is an international opportunity for those aged 18 or over to join the World At Play team on an 8 week expedition to the Balkans and make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged people: 

Eight volunteers along with a Team Leader run developmental play and sport sessions at our partner organisations in Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo and Serbia. 

All Volunteers receive full training as Play Leaders.  You will get first-hand experience in an international development charity.  You will explore a region beyond the tourist trail and have one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life.  Our next expedition will leave in September 2016 

Volunteers are asked to fund raise up to £700 towards costs.  Bursaries are available and assistance towards fund raising can be given (all money fundraised goes towards costs).

Administration/Fundraising Assistant - WITH (Welsh Institute of Therapeutic Horsemanship)


Administration/Fundraising Assistants will work alongside the Director of Operations to ensure the smooth running of WITH. This will include liaising with service users, referrers and other external organisations and maintaining accurate records of all activities as well as ensuring the necessary funds are in place for WITH to be sustainable.

Education Assistant - WITH (Welsh Institute of Therapeutic Horsemanship)


Educational Assistants will work alongside the Director of Operations to deliver both indoor and outdoor sessions to young people who suffer disadvantage, helping them to gain confidence, communication skills, qualifications and practical skills that will enhance their future prospects. They will work with service users in a person-centred, non-judgemental way, listening to their needs, issues and aspirations and ensuring that the ethos of WITH is upheld at all times. 

The role involves a large amount of physical activity and therefore would not be suitable for individuals with mobility difficulties.  Age requirements: 18 +

Horse Care Assistant - WITH (Welsh Institute of Therapeutic Horsemanship)

Horse Care Assistants will help with the daily care and exercise of the horses, keeping an eye out for and reporting any unusual behaviour or ailments in the horses. 

This role is not suitable for individuals without relevant horse experience.  Age requirements: 16+.
