Home visitor- 'Living Well with Hearing Loss' project– Action on Hearing Loss


The project aims to ensure that people in North Wales can live well with hearing loss. This is done by supporting people in their homes to learn how to use assistive equipment. This is a joint project between CoS - Centre of Signs/Sight/Sound (formerly NWDA) and Action on Hearing Loss so volunteers will be registered with both organisations.

Duties in this role will include-

           Learning how assistive equipment works
           Make home visits to people with hearing loss
           Help people with hearing loss learn how to use assistive  equipment
           Sign posting people to other organisations
           Giving people advice on hearing loss issues

Watchkeepers are the eyes and ears along our coastline, keeping a visual watch, monitoring radio channels and making full use of our binoculars and telescopes, weather instrumentation and telephone contact with Holyhead Coastguard.

Funded Volunteering Overseas – Raleigh ICS


Raleigh International want young people to volunteer overseas with ICS (International Citizen Service), a development programme which is fully funded by the UK government.

Raleigh delivers ICS in Nepal, Tanzania and Nicaragua, and run programmes all year round.

ICS aims to bring about three things: project impact, volunteer personal development and the creation of active citizens.

Aged 18-25? A UK or EU/EEA citizen that has been living in Britain for at least 12 months? Apply as a volunteer by the end of February for a space in one of our summer placements lasting 10 weeks.

Aged 23-35? Apply as a team leader. Placements last from 14 weeks to 8 months.

Spaces are available on the following placements:

Visitor Experience Volunteer– Storiel


Are you interested in art and history?  Do you have a few hours to spare each week?  Storiel are looking for dependable individuals to support Storiel staff in providing the best visitor experience for everyone. A deep understanding of art and history is not required.  Meeting and supporting visitors will be a big part of the role and you will meet people from all over the world so good interpersonal skills are required.  We are looking for facilitators to support the history galleries, art galleries, the shop, reception, tourist information point and the learning space.  We currently require volunteers for Wednesdays 11-5pm and possibly 5-9pm from the end of April, Thursday's, Fridays and Saturdays 11-5pm.

Volunteer Perinatal Befriender – Family Action


What is the Perinatal Support Service?

Family Action’s Perinatal Support Service is an early intervention, low intensity service for those with low level (mild to moderate) diagnosed mental health issues or who are at risk of developing mental health issues in the perinatal period.

The service is led by a professional coordinator with a health, social care or early years background.

What will I have to do?

As a befriender you will have the opportunity to:

  Offer parents regular emotional support to reduce social isolation and to help mum/dad be more emotionally available for their baby and other family members
  Observe how mum/dad respond to the baby and offer guidance on how they can better relate their baby
 Help mum/dad take the baby and other children outside of the home so they can access services they need - i.e. health services, shops, parks and children’s centres
Give the mum/dad support with issues which concern them.

Snowdon Volunteer Warden – Snowdonia National Park Authority


The Snowdonia National Park Authority is looking to add new volunteers to its existing Snowdon Volunteer Warden team. Team members offer a friendly and approachable public face for visitors to Snowdon’s busiest paths, summit and car parks. The role includes providing information, advice and reassurance on route choice and safety on the mountain; keeping the busiest paths free of litter and carrying out basic footpath maintenance work.

To engage with walkers and provide information and advice on:

-  route choice,  suitable equipment for the terrain and weather conditions (footwear etc),  local services,  safety considerations on the Mountain.

To inform the duty warden and if necessary contact the rescue services in the event of a serious incident. To keep a record of and report to the duty warden at the end of the day all minor incidents.  To carry out litter picks on the paths and around the summit.   To carry out basic maintenance to paths and to report back on any major issues.

Welcoming Visitors to Yr Ysgwrn.  We’ll need to give visitors a warm welcome at Yr Ysgwrn. You’ll be selling tickets, tea,coffee and cake, and providing visitor information about the site.  Guiding People in the Ffermdy (farmhouse).

Learning about the Ysgwrn story is an integral part of the visitor experience at Yr Ysgwrn. You’ll be looking after visitors in the farmhouse and providing general. information about Hedd Wyn’s story, Yr Ysgwrn and the Black Chair. Helping out in the Garden.  There are two gardens situated in front of the farmhouse that will

Scouting is about having fun, adventure and making new friends for young people and grown-ups too! LEARN TOGETHER CYMRU VOLUNTEER

Volunteers support pupils for a couple of hours each week, in schools or community settings, listening to them read, giving extra help with Maths or other subjects, or getting involved with a range of activities from gardening, to cooking, to drama, to knitting.  The important thing is the regular one-to-one interaction (always supervised by teachers or staff.) We provide support to adults, children and young persons who are having difficulty coping with the loss, through death, of a significant person in their lives. We are looking for volunteers who have some regular spare time to give and a desire to be involved.

Sport & Play Instructor - Balkans, Greece and Turkey Expedition Autumn 2017 – World at Play


This is an international opportunity for those aged 18 or over to join the World At Play team on an 10 week expedition to the Balkans, Greece and Turkey and make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged people:  Eight volunteers along with a Team Leader run developmental play and sport sessions at our partner organisations in Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo and Serbia and refugee camps in Greece and Turkey.  All Volunteers receive full training as Play Leaders.  You will get first hand experience in an international development charity.  You will explore a region beyond the tourist trail and have one of the most unforgettable experiences of your life.  Our next expedition will leave in September 2017

Volunteers are asked to fund raise up to £850 towards costs.  Bursaries are available and assistance towards fund raising can be given (all money fundraised goes towards costs).

Independent Custody Visitor (18 years +) CLOSING DATE 3/2/2017 - North Wales Police


The office of the Police and Crime Commissioner is seeking to recruit volunteer Independent Custody Visitor to visit people being held in police custody suites in north Wales.

The role entails checking that the welfare and needs of the people held in custody are being met.

Independent Custody Visitors must be over 18 and have the ability to make informed, objective and independent judgments.
