Volunteer Peer Advocate - NYAS

NYAS is a charity which supports children, young people and vulnerable adults by helping them to be heard, through the provision of confidential and independent advice, information and representation.

Volunteers aged 16-25 are needed to be Peer Advocates.

NYAS believe Peer Advocates who have experienced similar issues as other young people can be very good advocates. For this reason, these volunteers are required to have experienced being in care or to have used NYAS services.

In this role a young person supports other young people to explore issues they want stopped, started or changed.   The work will involve representing young people with assistance from NYAS staff.

In addition to this volunteers will be given the opportunity of having a placement in a setting where they can provide advocacy and support.

Accredited training and continuous support will be provided.
