Hard of hearing group support volunteer – Action on Hearing Loss


Attend a monthly social get-together for adults experiencing hearing loss. Welcome guests and serve refreshments. Interact and involve guests in conversation. Engage in activities such as a coffee morning, book group, arts and crafts or bingo. Help promote the group to increase the number of guests attending. Help track attendance numbers and feed back to the project coordinator. 

This role is suitable for people aged 16+.

Arthritis Care Wales Volunteer


Volunteer with Arthritis Care and be part of a team making a real difference to the lives of people with arthritis in Wales. You'll also learn new skills, have fun and meet new people...

Meeter and Greeter – The National Trust, Penrhyn Castle

‘Meeter and Greeters’ work outside and provide a warm welcome for all visitors, answer any immediate questions, help them to orientate themselves and generally give them the information they need to ensure they have a comfortable, enjoyable and memorable visit.  As a ‘Meeter and Greeter’, you will often be the first point of contact for visitors.  Besides providing an informative and cheerful welcome you will also offer practical advice and hand out leaflets and notices.

Costumed Victorian Guide – National Trust, Penrhyn Castle


A Costumed Victorian Kitchen Guide will naturally provide a warm welcome for all our visitors, helping them to explore and learn more about Penrhyn Castle’s history and make sure they have an enjoyable and memorable visit. These roles are carried out in in period costume.

Dementia RED Support Volunteers– Alzheimer’s Society Cymru


You will be responsible for acting as a representative of the Alzheimer’s Society externally maintaining contacts with GP surgeries. You will have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and experience of providing information and support. Information Points will be situated and staffed in GP surgeries. The ‘Dementia RED Care Information Centre Point’ will help people concerned about or with cognitive problems / dementia, carers / families and relevant others to acquire appropriate information and signposting to community support services providing much needed support. Provide information to individuals through the distribution of appropriate information and signposting to supporting people to live well with dementia and access community support services.

Helping people who are concerned about their own or another person’s memory to cope and understand the condition better.

Hospital Shop Volunteer Monday 1pm - 4.30pm - Ysbyty Gwynedd


RVS  shops, café and trolley serve hospital patients, staff and visitors with the added warmth of a friendly understanding volunteer. 

Volunteers are needed to help run the service, serve customers, take payment and provide a listening ear.

Volunteers ensure that the shop is stocked properly and that it is kept clean and tidy as expected in a hospital environment.

Guide Dogs for the Blind Association - Collection Box Coordinator


Coordinate collection boxes in local area to support fundraising for Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. General Fundraising Volunteer – British Red Cross


Fundraising is fun, rewarding and a great opportunity to meet new people. You will learn a lot about the work of the Red Cross and meet people involved in different aspects of the society. There will never be a dull moment as there are always different tasks to do, from spending a few hours as a supermarket collector to organising your very own fundraising event or taking part in our annual Red Cross Week.

Learning Resource Volunteer – Welsh Centre for International Affairs


We are looking for volunteers who can help us to research hidden histories from Wales’ peace heritage over the last hundred years and turn them into accessible learning resources, linked to the Welsh curriculum. Stories will concentrate on key themes being explored by the Wales for Peace project – including soldiers’ stories, histories of peacemakers, asylum seekers and refugees, international cooperation and the role of women. Climb every Mountain! Volunteer with us as Event Support at our Mount Snowdon Twilight Trek! – Tenovus Cancer Care


We have lots of exciting volunteer roles for this, our first ever mystical Twilight Trek up Mount Snowdon on Saturday 24th June 2017!

Climb every Mountain! Volunteer with us as Trek Support at our Mount Snowdon Twilight Trek! - Tenovus Cancer Care



This June, Tenovus Cancer Care is holding its first ever Twilight Trek, an attempt to climb Wales’ highest mountain,at night!  We’re looking for experienced outdoor enthusiasts to help us guarantee a fun, safe and enjoyable experience for our trekkers.

What will I be doing?
 
Volunteer Walker (Medium - Fast pace)
Keeping up with our fastest walkers, you’ll support the dedicated Mountain Leaders (ML’s) in charge ensuring our fundraisers are supported during their trek. Providing support to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely. Chat to our fundraisers ensuring that we provide a warm, welcoming environment.  In the event of an emergency, you may be required to assist a member of the group back down the mountain (alongside another ML).

Keeping a slower pace, you will support the dedicated Mountain Leaders (ML’s) in charge ensuring our fundraisers are supported during their trek. Providing supporting to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely.

Volunteer mentor / befriender – SOVA ACE (Achieving Change Through Employment)


Volunteer mentors are required to work with our participants to overcome social isolation and develop social integration. Many of our participants face language and cultural barriers having recently moved or taken refuge in the UK. The role of the volunteers is to support participants in overcoming these barriers by befriending and regularly meeting up with participants in an informal setting (e.g. coffee shop) to provide support and and opportunity to socialise

NSPCC Schools Service (Emphasis on Welsh Speakers in Gwynedd)


Volunteers are needed to deliver our Speak out stay safe programme to primary school children.  

Volunteers will be using Assembly Presentations and Classroom Workshops in order to increase children's understanding of keeping safe e.g abuse (including bullying).

Witness Service Caernarfon Court Volunteer – Citizens Advice Witness Service


The Witness Service provides practical and emotional support and information to witnesses so that they feel valued, respected and informed and able to give their best evidence in court.

Main duties and responsibilities include meeting witnesses away from the court environment, either at their home or other agreed safe place, to assess their needs and provide support. Together with the witness, and where appropriate their carer/ support worker/ parent/ guardian, develop a tailored plan of preparation and support.

The purpose of this preparation and support is to help reduce their anxiety and trauma and enable them to give their best evidence. Training and support will be provided.

Family Support - 'Five to Thrive' Parent Ambassador (NB: Volunteers must have previous experience of Barnardo's 'Five to Thrive' approach) - Welsh speaking only


A Parent Ambassador is a parent who has personally experienced the 'Five to Thrive' approach in some way,  and is so enthusiastic about its impact that he or she wants to share it with others. 

The role involves facilitating group and one-to-one 'Five to Thrive' activities with parents and children, to enable them to enhance their parenting skills and knowledge. This includes planning, preparation, delivery, recording and evaluation of activities.

Parent Ambassadors will pass on their knowledge of the 'Five to Thrive' approach by:

1. Running 'Five to Thrive' groups for parents moving on from Barnardo's structured parenting programmes.

2. Sharing 'Five to Thrive' sessions with parents attending existing groups in local communities.

3. Providing one-to-one support to parents, in order for them to build 'Five to Thrive' into their family environment and routines.
