We are looking for students who will support unpaid
carers within their university setting.
This could be done by putting up posters and passing out leaflets to
identify carers within the uni. You could organise a breakfast club or
publicise our campaigns. Carers are
people who look after family and friends who are ill, elderly or disabled. As a Student Carer Champion you could bring
carers together who are studying at your university so they don't feel isolated
and lonely. You will have the knowledge
and experience to support them and signpost to Carers Wales so they get the
best advice possible. It is an
opportunity to practice and develop personal organisation, communication and interpersonal
skills, time management and creativity. It's an opportunity to better
understand the needs of carers. This
opportunity is suitable for people aged 18+.
