Rhododendron
(Rhododendron ponticum) is an invasive species to Wales. In a partnership
between the Snowdonia Society and Y Dref Werdd an area in Tanygrisiau will be
cleared of the invasive species. Y Dref Werdd is a lottery funded environmental
community project in the Bro Ffestiniog area. One of many projects Y Dref Werdd
has is the ‘Rhododendron Clearance and Control project’ which intends on
clearing areas where Rhododendron is present. Our aim is to free the area from
this invasive species by cutting the branches using bow saws and loppers.
