Local Fundraising groups – The Lullaby Trust


We are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic supporters to join us in forming local fundraising groups around the UK!

These groups will play a vital role in helping us raise awareness of The Lullaby Trust and our safer sleep messages across the UK to ensure that we meet our target of halving SIDS by 2020. Local Groups are in great position to engage with their local community and know how best to do this using their networks and skills.

Side by Side Telephone volunteer (16+) – Alzheimer’s Society Cymru


The base for this role is flexible & will be agreed with your role manager.  You could volunteer from home or in your local Alzheimer’s Society office.  The level of commitment for this role can be agreed based on your availability & will be discussed at your first meeting with the Side by Side Coordinator. This could be during afternoons, evening or weekends.

As a Side by Side telephone volunteer, you will provide friendly, tailored conversations with people living with dementia. You will be connected with people based on their interests.  Your involvement will support people with dementia to feel less isolated & focuses on individual’s strengths to remain connected, feel valued & more confident.

Marketing / Data Entry Volunteer – Storiel

Helping to create and implement a marketing plan for Storiel.

Tasks could change on a day to day basis, however, generally:

Interview the team ( Staff/ vols) and Suppliers/customers for the newsletter, using social media, discovering days of importance to the collection eg this day in history, being part of thinking up new marketing ideas, creating simple films, simple translation, researching to items as required

Visitor Experience Team Member – Storiel


Assisting the Front of House staff to enrich the visitor’s experience in Storiel. Supporting the day to day running of the Museum and Art Gallery. 

Tasks could change on a day to day basis, however, generally:

  Welcoming visitors
  Guiding the visitors to exhibitions
  Crowd control
  Answering visitor’s questions about the exhibitions at Storiel
  Encourage the interactive use of games/ stories eg jigsaw, activity bag, app, history screens
  Tidying and restocking shop
  Helping visitors in the Tourist Information Point

Book Club Volunteer (Welsh Speaking) – Welsh Centre for International Affairs


Wales for Peace is seeking personal accounts related to Wales' contribution to peace over the last century.  It is a little-known fact that Basque children fleeing the Franco regime were sheltered in Old Colwyn.  There is very little evidence of this by now and the idea of the Book Club is to read a novel based on this and other aspects of Welsh History with a group of adults in order to prompt accounts personal to them, their family and friends about this and other periods in history.  With the permission of the individual, these accounts can be recorded in a way agreeable to them and they will be included on our website.

Accredited Volunteer – Epilepsy Action Cymru


Are you enthusiastic and capable of delivering presentations with confidence? Join our fantastic team of Accredited Volunteers and help raise awareness and understanding of epilepsy. 

You will deliver pre-booked epilepsy awareness sessions to interested groups and help us promote this service locally. Presentations will be delivered using PowerPoint (training will be provided). 

You must be confident in engaging with people and in making presentations. You should be able to present information clearly and with enthusiasm.

Coffee and chat/support group volunteer – Epilepsy Action


You will organize monthly informal group meetings at a regular venue. You will liaise with the venue and ensure a welcoming environment. From time to time, you will pass on helpful information on behalf of Epilepsy Action. You will be in contact with the Local Services Manager (LSM), keeping them informed and reporting back on attendance levels. This volunteering role is suitable for people aged 16+.

EPP Cymru Volunteer Tutor – EPP Cymru


EPP Cymru is an NHS initiative delivering free courses for people living with long term health conditions and carers.  It helps people to learn new skills to improve their quality of life.

We are constantly looking for people to join our team of volunteer tutors to run our courses in the community.  All volunteers need to have personal experience of living with a long term health condition or of being a carer and must complete a 6-week course as a participant prior to training.  Training to deliver the course is provided and out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Community Project Fundraiser – The Stroke Association

Go Pink! BCAM Volunteer – Tenovus Cancer Care


We’re looking for you to give an hour, or more if you can, at a bucket collection near you to encourage people in your community to spare some change. We can buddy you up with your nearest collection or you can even organize your own.  Why not grab some family and friends to join in the fun and raise even more money?  If collections aren’t your thing, don’t worry! You can still have fun and fundraise with us! Why not arrange a ‘wear pink day’ or a ‘pink bake off’ at work or school?  You can dress in pink, or fancy dress, or sing a song – we just want you to have fun whilst raising as much money as you can. Remember, the more fun you have, the more people will feel encouraged to Go Pink, join in and donate!  This volunteering role is suitable for people aged 16+.

Caernarfon Great Daffodil Appeal fundraiser – Marie Curie


Marie Curie are hosting a number of collection events in the area as part of their Great Daffodil Appeal. Events will take place in various supermarkets and high streets. To make these collections a success, we rely on people coming forward to volunteer and hour or two to stand with the daffodil trays and a collection tin to raise funds which will go towards supporting local marie curie nurses.

Fundraising Group Chairperson (18+) – Marie Curie


Fundraising Groups organise collections and fundraising events and encourage support for Marie Curie from the local community.

With your leadership, the group will make the most

of all fundraising opportunities in your local area. You will help to form a cohesive fundraising team who are focused on raising as much money as possible for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

What we need you to do:

• Help the Fundraising Group plan and organise a calendar of fundraising events

• Lead the group on all activities

• Encourage support for Marie Curie Cancer Care, forming and maintaining relationships with local supporters

• Recruit and welcome new members to the group when required

Charity Collection Tin Coordinator - In the Town or Village where you live– Marie Curie

You'll be amazed how much money is donated through collection boxes placed within the local community, and as a Collection Box Coordinator you will be responsible for your own network of boxes in your local area. Whether it s a local shop or leisure centre, the more boxes you can place and collect, the more money you will raise for Marie Curie.

As a Collection Box Coordinator you will visit existing sites a few times a year to swap full tins for empty ones and use your local knowledge to seek new locations. You'll also play a key part in the Great Daffodil Appeal in March, by helping to place and collect daffodil boxes. 

Whether it s a collection tin or daffodil box, the next step is counting and banking the donations and completing the necessary paperwork.  

This role is flexible and varied, so you can really make it your own. You can organize your time so that your volunteering fits around your life.

Supermarket Collectors – Marie Curie


We are actively seeking to appeal to individuals or groups of people to volunteer an hour or two of their time to come along to our Great Daffodil Appeal, Summer and Christmas collections which are run across the area in the local supermarkets and busy high streets. 

Collectors would be advised of our available dates and venues and commit to a time and place that suits. 

All the materials needed to take part in the collection are made available at the collection site, including a collection tin/bucket, daffodils or stickers, and a collectors tabard and hat.   

The collector is then required to stand in a designated spot, and make themselves available to receive donations from passers by in return for a Marie Curie Daffodil or sticker. 

All money raised locally is used locally to support the Marie Curie nursing service.

Arthritis Care Wales Volunteer


Join our volunteer team!
Volunteer with Arthritis Care and be part of a team making a real difference to the lives of people with arthritis in Wales. You'll also learn new skills, have fun and meet new people...  

You can become a volunteer by contributing a couple of hours or more a month. As a volunteer, you can choose to get involved with one or more of our services, for example, providing information stands at a local venue, running activities for children, young people and families, promoting self-management skills and exercise, running a local support group or getting involved with our campaigning activities.

Team Member - Helping people learn to use the internet – Citizens Online

Volunteers required to run 'drop in' sessions, where members of the public can call in with queries or problems using the basics of the internet, how to get online, use search engines, email and general everyday use. We are not looking for technical wizards, just people who enjoy helping others and have mastered everyday internet use. You will be part of a team giving a couple of hours in your community to answer general queries and offering assistance with basic problems that learners come across.

Befrienders and Peer Supporters offer support across our Life After Stroke Services.  They help to reduce social isolation and improve confidence and self-esteem of stroke survivors.

Reserve Assistant – RSPB Cors Ddyga


We require volunteer help with habitat management and reserve maintenance on the North Wales wetland reserves which include RSPB Valley Wetlands and RSPB Cors Ddyga on Anglesey and RSPB Morfa Dinlle on Gwynedd. Tasks include controlling invasive non-native plants, hay cutting, fencing, track maintenance and nest-box building. This can be muddy work but is also very rewarding. We will be part of a cheerful team that meets weekly, and you get to work amongst some of the finest wildlife on Anglesey!

Guide Dogs Volunteer – Gwynedd Guide Dogs


We are looking for volunteers who want to support the owners of guide dogs in.

The purpose of the role is to support individuals and take their guide dogs for a walk on a weekly basis. The volunteers will take the dogs for about 45mins to an hour. This will allow the dogs to run free in a safe place.  You will receive training and support for this role. This role is suitable if you own a dog yourself or with experience of dealing with dogs or if you want the experience of dealing with dogs.

Funded Volunteering Overseas – Raleigh ICS


Should there be more to life?  Something more special? Something to make you feel you are actually making a difference? Something to take you places you’ve never been before?  Yes? Volunteer with Raleigh ICS.  ICS is a volunteering programme funded by the UK government. This means your flights, visas, vaccines, training, food, accommodation and travel are all covered.  We deliver ICS in Nepal, Tanzania and Nicaragua, we are currently looking for volunteers for 12 weeks next spring. 

What could I be doing?

On a Raleigh ICS placement, you could be working on one of two areas:

• WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) – Help improve people’s access & knowledge about safe water and sanitation

• Livelihoods - support young people & women to set up local businesses & build sustainable livelihoods

You’ll make a difference to rural communities, build your CV & develop transferable skills
