Working Group Leader - Coed Cadnant, Caernarfon - Woodland Trust




The Woodland Working Group Leader will lead and guide a group of volunteers on tasks in Coed Cadnant  as agreed with the Volunteer Manager.

The key aims of the role are;

• Lead and organise the group on woodland working days to carry out key tasks

• Coordinate with the Volunteer Manager regarding a schedule of activity and liaise with the woodland working group members as needed

 Record and give feedback to the Volunteer Manager on the activities and suggestions of the group

• Guide the group to adhere to key Woodland Trust policies and procedures such as but not exclusively; Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Woodland Working Group Guidelines

This is a volunteer leadership role that will contribute towards the Woodland Trust’s strategy. As group leader we would expect you to have regular interaction with the Volunteer Manager. This role supports your local woodland through the activities of the group.

Woodland Working Group Member - Coed Cadnant (Caernarfon)– Woodland Trust




The Woodland Working Group Member will form part of a working group of volunteers at Coed Cadnant site. The purpose of this role is to assist in the maintenance, care and conservation of the site within the guidelines of the site risk assessment and to support the goals of the site management plan.  



The key aims of the role are to;

• Support fellow volunteers on woodland working days to carry out key tasks

• Use tools and equipment as needed within health and safety guidelines,  the appropriate training will be provided by the Woodland Working Group Leader or Volunteer Manager

• Work on tasks following the guidance of the Woodland Working Group Leader and Volunteer Manager

• Working within Woodland Trust policies and procedures such as but not exclusively; Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Woodland Working Group Guidelines provided by the Woodland Working Group Leader or Volunteer Manager

• Contribute ideas on how to improve the area for the local community

Listening Volunteer – Samaritans



To provide confidential emotional support for people experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide. Charity Shop Volunteer - Tywyn – British Red Cross

Project Volunteer – Our Social Networks - Mencap




In this project volunteers will work with people with and without a learning disability to help interpret and share important stories on the theme of friendships and relationships for people with a learning disability.

This may include:

  Attending monthly workshops

  Attending a group for people with a learning disability to get to know other people involved in the project.

  Listening to stories before each workshop and thinking about how they make you feel and how the story is important.

Sharing any skills and knowledge you have that may be relevant to the project.

Helping to design and promote the pop-up and scattered exhibitions

Staffing our pop-up exhibitions and scattered exhibits.



We would like you to attend our monthly volunteer meetings for about 2-3 hours on a Saturday. The meetings will take place at museums in the 4 towns so we’re looking for volunteers who live in the area around Bangor

LEARN TOGETHER CYMRU VOLUNTEER




Volunteers support pupils for a couple of hours each week, in schools or community settings, listening to them read, giving extra help with Maths or other subjects, or getting involved with a range of activities from gardening, to cooking, to drama, to knitting.  The important thing is the regular one-to-one interaction (always supervised by teachers or staff.) Just 10 minutes a day listening to children read can make a huge difference to their overall ability and confidence.

Independent Living Service Volunteer – British Red Cross


In the UK, our Independent Living services respond to the needs and wishes of service users who are in crisis. We offer 'one point of contact' to help the service user access a suite of services, everything is together in one package as needed and required. We work with a range of issues from people recovering from illness, surgery or an accident, to struggling with a life-changing event.



As an Independent Living Service volunteer, the primary aim is to enable the service user to recover from their crisis and to receive practical and emotional support. The Independent Living Service Volunteer will be the 'point of contact' for the service user and will enable them to access the services they require to alleviate the crisis and move on with their lives.



The volunteer will enable people to live as independently as they can at home, building trusting relationships and helping them to regain their confidence and well-being.

Mentor for Adults - SOVA Cymru




A mentoring role, working with Sova ACE service users (adults from the local BME and Migrant communities). Volunteers are matched to the service user according to their skills and interests. The volunteer will work with the individual, to build a goal focused mentoring relationship. Volunteers will support the individuals into employment, training or volunteering.

Voice Bank Volunteer – Motor Neurone Disease Association


This role is important as you will be supporting people living with MND to record a set list of phrases with their own voice, while they still have the ability to do so. You will be working as part of a team of local & regional staff to pilot the voice banking support service for the Association.



Ideally, we are looking for someone that can give approximately 2 - 4 hours per month to provide support, planning and correspondence time. Full training and induction will be given.

Mentor / volunteer friend (SOVA ACE Achieving Change Through Employment)– SOVA Cymru




Volunteer mentors are required to work with our participants to overcome social isolation and develop social integration. Many of our participants face language and cultural barriers after recently moved or taken refuge in the UK. The role of the volunteers is to support participants in overcoming these barriers by befriending and regularly meeting up with participants in an informal setting (e.g. coffee shop) to provide support and opportunity to socialise.

We are looking for events volunteers who can help people be more active through walking or cycling more for their everyday journeys.

These volunteers are people who are active or want to be more active. They are good communicators, good motivators and can be a source of support and encouragement for others.



As a volunteer you can select which volunteering activities you organise or take part in. These activities include:

Kids in Museums is an independent charity dedicated to making museums open and welcoming to all families, especially those who haven’t visited before.



The Kids in Museums Manifesto, Family Friendly Museum Award and Takeover Day have been incredibly successful ways of encouraging and guiding museums and galleries across the country to make family visits engaging and enjoyable.

Volunteer Ranger – North West Wales – Sustrans


Become a volunteer ranger and help to look after a section of the National Cycle Network near your home. You’ll be expected to carry out agreed tasks such as checking for missing or broken signs and replacing them, carrying out general tidy ups and clearing back encroaching vegetation, reporting any major issues on the routes and attending group workdays and signing rides. There are also lots of opportunities within the role to help promote walking and cycling within your local community, through activities such as attending events and leading walks and rides.

         

We are looking to find new volunteers who are self motivated, and live close to or travel regularly along the NCN. As a minimum you must check your section of route once a month and report back.

See Around Britain is a disabled-run charity based near Carmarthen. Its website and web apps https://seearoundbritain.com provide a groundbreaking and innovatory multilingual photo gazetteer using GPS and are an essential information bank for both residents, tourists and travellers. It offers comprehensive venue information for users that includes detailed information and photos to show the accessibility of the venues for disabled visitors.

Volunteers are needed to write venue descriptions using a standard venue template with guidance and support from the charity. This can be done online flexibly from home by the volunteer dependent on their time availability with regular support from the charity via email and Skype.
